For the 11th time we had a well attended Nobuyuki Kajiwara (Nobu) workshop in Pirongia. Warm weather and a wide variety of trees saw some interesting work over the weekend with members and guests coming from as far afield as Auckland, Thames and New Plymouth to listen to the horticultural and styling advice from Nobu.

As usual we started with a discussion on an aspect of bonsai to help us understand why we work the way we should when working with our trees before the in depth work on the trees, punctuated by discussions as a pertinent point of interest was raised, including different aspects of pruning, pot choice, root pruning, repotting and the different growth habits of different species.

Saturday evening saw the usual convivial BBQ and pot luck dinner.
