A great fun day with Kathy Steyn creating Saikei. It started with a demonstration from Kathy on how she constructs the landscape, showing how to arrange the rocks at differing heights, placing of the trees and adding features such as grasses, moss, figurines and gravel all in the right size and place to provide perspective.

Then it was over to us with Kathy discussing each landscape as it was built to get the best out of the rocks and trees we had brought with us, before guiding us on the selection of gravel and accessories to get the most realistic effect we can. A full day with some very nice Saikei as a result.

In-between sessions giving advice Kathy created a second Saikei which she kindly donated to the club which will be raffled at the 2019 Convention in Hamilton.
