The planned privet dig in Rotorua was postponed twice due to bad weather. When we finally got there our number was slightly reduced due to other commitments but the five of us who braved the long trek into the Redwood forest with our guides Rick, Neil and Peter from the Rotorua club were soon looking around for suitable trees to dig up.

The digging was relatively easy due to the large amount of leaf litter in the forest and we soon all had a number of trees bagged up and ready to be carried back to the cars.

Once everything was safely packed away we were treated to a look around Neil’s extensive collection before heading back home.

A big thank you to the Rotorua club for inviting us to come down and dig with them.
