A very busy month with the annual show at Hamilton Gardens attracting a large crowd to see the 100+ trees on display. This year we did not have the usual fixed demonstrations, instead we had club members working on trees throughout the day and a ‘Create a Bonsai’ area where a number of the visitors sat down with club members and created their own tree.
The club meeting saw the root over rock trees created during the workshop last year come in and their roots start to be revealed as the trees were checked for progress and in some cases repotted.
Finally we had the Christchurch Convention where a number of our members had trees on display in the NZBA National Show. The Hamilton contingent did very well winning a large number of trophies and Merit certificates.
