In preparation for our annual show the members looked at different methods for judging trees. This included a practical session.

Our 30th Birthday was celebrated with a great show at Hamilton Gardens. There were over 100 trees on display from very small…..

..to this very large White Olive group.

On Saturday afternoon we had a demonstration from Peter Mudie and on Sunday we had demonstrations from Peter Scammell and Les Simpson.

As well as the display we had a well stocked sales area where members of the club could sell off surplus trees and raw material. Lindsay Muirhead was also on hand with his wire and high quality tools.

The committee got to put into practice the judging skills they refined at the October meeting and the Best in Show award went to this superb Himalayan Cedar.

The Lane Award – voted for by the public produced a three way tie. This year the same number of votes were cast for the above Hawthorn, Wisteria, and Cotoneaster.

The Cotoneaster was chosen as the eventual winner after a final ballot of club members who had not already voted.
