Over the weekend of July 8th and 9th we enjoyed a workshop with John Marsh from Australia. Members bought along some very interesting trees either needing refinement or raw material requiring major styling. The before and after pictures of some of the trees.

July also saw the club visit Adriaan and Poppie’s in Tauranga to collect some trees for future workshops.

Morning tea before looking around Adriaan and Poppie’s collection.

Just a couple of the impressive trees on display.

Sandra examines some of the field grown material.

Noel and Sam watch as Adriaan does the hard work.

Ann with one of the smaller trees dug up – a very nice Chinese Elm.

Peter and Adriaan get to grips with a Cherry.

Loaded and ready for the trip back to Hamilton.

Tara wanted to work on a tree which would be different to her young trees and give her something of a challenge.

She chose this little redwood.

The lifted tree, 2.2 metres from the base of the roots. It just fitted in the back of the car.
