AABC Annual Convention 2026

The Bonsai Society of Southern Tasmania together with the Association of Australian Bonsai Clubs, have great pleasure in inviting you to attend the 38th Australian National Bonsai Convention, to be held at the Wrest Point Conference Centre on the banks of the River Derwent, from Friday 1 May to Monday 4 May, 2026.

Club Meeting – AGM, Bring & Buy

Club members will have the opportunity to buy and sell trees, pots, tools, etc. Arbonsai will be attending with brand new high quality tools and wire.

Club Meeting – Roots & Rocks – Workshop

Bring your own material and build a root over rock or tree on rock bonsai. Trees from previous workshops will be brought along and their roots exposed for the first time!

Club Meeting – Final prep for 2026 Show

The final meeting before the show, we will go over display aesthetics and tree preparation.

Club Meeting – Tanuki & Deadwood preservation workshop

A Tanuki bonsai is created by joining a young plant to an old piece of wood to instantly increase the value of both. The use of Metalex wood preserver and Lime Sulphur anti-fungal and staining agents will be discussed and demonstrated.
