DESCRIPTION:Topic: Kathy Steyn will give a carving demonstration\nKathy Steyn from South Africa will feature at this meeting\nShe will give a talk and this will be followed by a carving demonstration.\nLast year she did some carving. Only two trees were brought to the meeting last year and she did some very good work on both of them.\nIf you have a tree or trees suitable for carving bring them along and if we have too many we will let Kathy choose which ones she wants to work on. \nWe will also have the show and tell session as per usual. Also if you have any trees for which you want advice bring them to the meeting. \nPlease note that there will be a couple of things on at the Gardens the day of our meeting.\nThe Harvest Festival is on that day Sunday 8th.  It is in front of the main Pavilion from 10am to 2pm\, where there will be sales tables etc.\nThe Pumpkin Festival is on too up in the Rhododendron Lawn the entry is at the top of the hill as you come in our gate. That one is from 10am to 2.30pm.

DESCRIPTION:We are lucky to have Kathy Steyn from South Africa as our leader for the day.\nBring along any Bonsai that you want to work on. Kathy is good at carving but she is also good at the full range of Bonsai and styles including shohin.\nShe is likely to do a demonstration first before she takes a lead with a workshop.\nThe Workshop will be held at the Waikato Potters Society located at:\nStudio 1 Ward Park Art Centre\, 2 Seddon Road ( Corner of Ward and Seddon Road) \nWe will have to pay Kathy and for the use of the premises for the day.\nThe charges that apply will be:\n$40 for the full day per person\n$20 for half a day per person\nPlease pay on the day preferably with cash but failing that a cheque. \nRemember to bring your lunch\, snacks\, tools\, turntable and carving gear if you want to do carving. \nWould you please let me know by Email if you will be attending.\nMy Email address is simmys@xtra.co.nz
