DESCRIPTION:Subject: Shohin & AGM \nOur next monthly meeting of the 9 July will be our AGM followed by a talk by Lindsay on Shohin. \nThis meeting will be at our normal venue at Wintec\, Hamilton Gardens\, at 2pm\, Sunday 9 July \nThe programme will include\n1 AGM. I have attached the AGM minutes from last year.\n2 A talk on Shohin by Lindsay. Shohin are small Bonsai less than 25cm in height which can be held in the palm of one hand..\nOriginally Marshall was going to talk on a Shohin exhibition she visited whilst in the USA recently. However she has become ill so we will have to postpone her talk and photographs for another occasion. \nWould you please bring along for the Show and Tell display a Shohin Bonsai. We would also like to see any other Bonsai you would like to bring along including anything you need advice about. \nWe have two people retiring from the committee so would welcome any new people who would like to come onto the committee.

There will also be a brief report on the Australian Bonsai Convention held in Brisbane in May. \nThis meeting will be at our normal venue at Wintec\, Hamilton Gardens\, at 2pm\, Sunday 11 June. Melody will take the lead for this session. \nWould you please bring along for the Show and Tell display a rock planting\, ie root over rock\, root on rock\, saikei etc.\nAlso bring along for discussion during the session any rocks that you have that you would like to discuss. These can be suiseki\, or just rocks you like because of there colour and shape.

DESCRIPTION:Subject: Kathy Steyn Presentation & Carving Demo \nWe are very fortunate to have Kathy Steyn from South Africa  give a presentation and also some tips on carving. \nKathy will give a power point presentation which I understand will be based on her bonsai collection and what she grows in South Africa.\nThis will be followed by a carving demonstration. If you have a tree that you think will be suitable for carving bring it along to the meeting. We will get Kathy to select from the trees available what she would like to demonstrate on. \nKathy comes from South Africa with a very good reputation. This meeting therefore is one not to be missed.

DESCRIPTION:Subject: Tony Bebb Demo \nTony Bebb our Australia visitor will be giving a demonstration on George and another tree he has yet to decide on. We will have afternoon tea and a pot luck dinner at the conclusion of the demonstration. The demonstration will be outdoors. \nConsider bringing the following: \n\nSun hat and Sun protection if it is sunny.\nInsect repellent.\nWet weather gear if is wet.\nSomething to sit on such as folding chair.\nFood for the Pot luck dinner. To make it less of a gamble could you indicate via Email or by phone what you are likely to bring. This saves us from having to eat tons of salad if everyone decides to bring salad for instance.\nA water bottle for drinking. We have filtered water available if you run out.\n\nPlease contact us for location details.
